Over 160 years of history are built into the stone walls of this landmark.
From Grist Mill to Gourmet Destination
The Aberfoyle Mill was originally built in 1859 by a Scottish immigrant named George McLean. For over a century, the grist mill served the local community, harnessing the power of the adjacent stream to grind grain into flour. The original wooden waterwheel and grinding stones are still a centerpiece of our dining room today.
In 1966, the Mill was lovingly restored and transformed into the fine dining restaurant it is today. The goal was to preserve the authentic, rustic charm of the original structure while creating a sophisticated atmosphere for diners. We are proud to continue this legacy, offering exceptional cuisine in a setting that is rich with history and character.
